Frequently Asked Questions

The following questions address the most common enquiries received by the Registry. For matters not covered below, applicants are invited to contact the Registry directly.

  • What is the Royal Registry of Mercantile Notices?

The Registry is the centralised authority responsible for the submission, examination and circulation of commercial announcements across the Syldavian digital network. All mercantile notices intended for placement on accredited Syldavian publications must be submitted through the Registry.

  • How long does the examination process take?

The standard examination period is 3 to 5 working days from the date of submission. Requests involving restricted sectors or non-standard languages may require up to 10 working days.

  • In which languages may notices be submitted?

Visual materials must contain text in English, French, or Syldavian. Materials in other languages require prior written approval from the Registry's linguistic review committee.

  • What format must visual materials be submitted in?

The Registry accepts a single standardised format: 520 \u00d7 780 pixels, portrait orientation, in JPEG, PNG or WebP format, with a maximum file size of 500 KB. Full details are available on the Technical Specifications page.

  • Can I choose which publications display my notice?

Applicants may indicate a preferred placement category (e.g. Sport, Cinema, Cross-Network). The Registry will endeavour to accommodate preferences, but final placement is determined by the availability of positions and the editorial suitability of the notice.

  • What happens if my notice is rejected?

Rejected notices are returned with a written explanation. Applicants may submit amended materials or file a written appeal to the Editorial Review Committee within 15 working days. Details of the appeals process are available on the Editorial & Legal Rules page.

  • Are there discounts for public institutions?

Syldavian public institutions, accredited cultural organisations and registered non-profit entities may be eligible for reduced rates or complimentary placement. Please contact the Registry to establish eligibility prior to submission.

  • How are notices displayed on the network?

Notices appear in a rotating carousel within designated positions on each accredited publication. Rotation is randomised to ensure equitable circulation across all active notices.

  • Can I update my visual materials after approval?

Approved materials may be replaced with updated versions, but each revision must undergo a new examination. The replacement will be circulated once approved.

  • How do I contact the Registry?

All enquiries should be submitted through the secure contact form. Please include your reference number if your enquiry relates to an existing submission.
